Although I don't think she has performed in the West since her comeback a performance of her playing the Brucj Scottish Fantasia - her old party piece from the 1970s with Kempe - from Seoul last year has emerged .

She sure has not lost her touch - move over Heifetz - this is KWC's piece . It would be marvellous to see her on these shores again .

The KWC Scottish Phantasy (with VC 1) was one of my very first LPs, much cherished (and I prefer the famtasy to the concerto)

Likewise - though I always thought of it as Oistrach's piece rather than Heifetz's, always found the latter's somewhat soulless. The Oistrach, with Horenstein, always seemed more warm-hearted, somehow. Hindemith on the other side. Good to see this - saw KWC play it in the RFH with Previn and the LSO in 1972. I saw her 2-3 times in the 1970s and then not for about 30 years till I saw her play the Brahms in Cardiff, by which time she seemed to have acquired much greater stillness and intensity on stage, none of the rather over-demonstrative thrashing about of the old days.

Just whiling away the time before setting off for the RAH for tonight's Prom.....

Justy looking again at Barbirollians' post - she's certainly played over here in recent years. AMcG interviewed her on CD Review a few years ago.

KWC's playing is spellbinding, as far as I am co0ncerned. I have quite a few of her recordings. I do hope she comes to these shores very soon!

Very glad to see KWC is still performing! I heard her once, 1977 in the Elgar concerto with the Bournemouth SO under Seaman - magic! I have quite a few of her recordings (the Walton/Stravinsky with Previn probably on top of the pile) and there are plenty of others that I've always been meaning to get, inc the Bruch 1 and Scottish Fantasy.

I've got her Bartok 2 , but did she both concertos?

Re ## 1 and 4 - back home, looking through my programmes. She stood in for an indisposed Marta Argerich in a concert in St Davids Hall Cardiff on 25.2.2003 - Argerich had been supposed to play Beethoven 1st piano concerto, KWC played the Brahms violin concerto instead. Philharmonia/Dutoit. It must have been very short notice, not even a note in the programme, just something on the board as you went in.

Bartok 2 identical to the one I've got on LP, 1 escaped obviously my attention.

Her Bartok 2 with Rattle is superb and won a Gramophone award . She also recorded the concerto with Solti but I have not heard that - although their collaboration in the Berg and Bartok 1 was pretty special .
