Sorry ams, I overlooked your link. That's very funny, but it definitely wasnt Jimmy Dur(r)ante on my parent's record!

Richard Crookes, ums? Or Clara Butt maybe?

          or Webster Booth?

          or

Sir Arthur Sullivan composed this song in 1877, and it was an immediate success. It was a perfect example of the kind of popular religious music of the late...

Nope. I know nothing of Richard Crookes, but it definitely wasnt Clara Butt!! I have a LP of her singing back in the 1920s, what a voice! She could get down low, but not that low ...

                    Not John McCormack, definitely.

I reckon it was Harry Secombe. A little seven inch EP with a close up head and shoulders photo of him on the cover.

Are you saying that umslopogaas' teenage years were well over by then?

                            Not at all.

Wally Stott became Angela Morley in 1972 so my bad, not 1974.

I'm getting lost, but my teenage years were the nineteen sixties. Of that I am sure, and have a birth certificate to prove it, but of anything else in this thread, I am not sure.

And as for Wally Stott and Angela Morley, sex change isnt really my field, so I'll just go off quietly and ruminate, in either gender as the moo (d) takes me.
