They usually sort out these automated Sounds upload problems within a day or two of the broadcast. All is not lost, however. The closing pages of SdF arrangement can currently be found as the start of Afternoon concert for that day, https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000czqy

I have not yet checked, but there is usually an overlap. If you have the software wherewithall (fet_iplayer and a suitable audio editor) you can edit the complete ScF arrangement together. I will have a go at it in a few minutes and get back.

      Yes I've got get_iplayer ;)

R3 seems to be the poor relation as far as iPlayer/BBC Sounds is concerned. Programmes on R4 etc are quite carefully edited these days (unlike a few years go) so you don't get 5 minutes of rubbish at the start and end of each programme. Whereas the Lunchtime Concert, for example, usually includes the one o'clock news at the start and the first couple of minutes of the Afternoon Concert at the end. Friday's concert didn't start until 1306 hence the loss of the end of the Tchaikovsky.

It appears that last Friday's lunchtime now has the missing last moments of the Tchaikovsky (and no longer has the news at the start) so one of my complaints must have worked. It would be useful to know which one.

That's what happens if you link to the Live i-Player/Zounds! as it plays - the link just takes you to whatever's on now.

I think 8thOb meant the lovely guitar & strings recital broadcast this lunchtime:

English, Cuban and Austrian music for guitar and strings, led by guitarist Allan Neave

The lunchtime guitar recitals this week have all been a joy.

                    .

(One just had to be smart with the on/off button to avoid the vapid Children’s Hour tones of Ms. Alker who was unfortunately on the afternoon shift... )
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Monday 10 February lunchtime concert repeated today at 1pm, conveniently just before the EMS at 2pm. Recorder Riot with recorder player Lucie Horsch and luteinest Thomas Dunford, Horsch playing a bewildering array of top of the range wooden instruments. A happy combination of players and definitely worth a listen/again.
And the tune ends too soon for us all

Wonderfully eclectic Lunchtime Concert - Haydn, Francaix, Sibelius and Bright Sheng. The first of 4 programmes compiled from the 2019 Australian Chamber Music Festival in Townsville, North Queensland (organized by Kathryn Stott).

Yes, very enjoyable, and very enthusiastically received by the audience in the case of the Bright Sheng. There were two venues involved I think EA said, although the schedule blurb doesn't mention that?

Indeed, though one for the the pronunciation police as far as Francaix is concerned. I know some of his relatives are happy for the "x" to not be voiced but Jean himself was not. Closest anglophone eqivalent would be Fronsex.

Ingrid Fliter played the fourth Chopin Ballade today at lunchtime (recorded in 2018). If you enjoy the piece I think the performance is well worth finding on Sounds - a thoughtful and moving interpretation, definitely not of the flashy playing and ludicrous speed school but plenty of power and technique when needed and appropriate. Just a lovely pianist.
