    Lunchtime Concert - Christian Zacharias

The performance of Haydn's B minor sonata HXVI.32 by Christian Zacharias from the East Neuk festival was superb. If one is going to listen to Haydn's sonatas on a modern piano, then Zacharias just has to be one of the best for these works.

Zacharias does not appear to have made any CDs of Haydn sonatas, though there are some YouTube videos. Without wishing to dictate what he does, I would suggest that were he to record them commercially it would hopefully be very much appreciated by Haydn lovers.

Others I recommend for modern performances are Marc-Andre Hamelin and Andras Shiff too.

There's still time to catch the four programmes from the East Neuk festival on iPlayer.
