    Oh do please wind your neck in, HS. Sir Colin was himself not inclined to be pompous about subjects as varied as tippling, the HIP movement (at which he cast large stones whenever the opportunity provided) and even death, in fact quite the reverse, so I am disinclined to tug the forelock to your rather pious imprecation. It was a bit of wordplay and a flight of fancy.

      Didn't Colin Davis' children present him with a sketch of him on his death bed with his knitting, pontificating on Death? He was the last person, I think, to get on his high horse on this.

        No mention of Sospiri. A wonderful work and I thought a most fitting ending to the concert, especially when conducted by his son.
