So far I don't seem to have seen any mention on the boards of this morning's service from Westminster Abbey. Great to hear the Parry "I Was Glad" done so wonderfully and the new anthem by Bob Chilcott seemed to serve the occasion very well, at least to my ears.

I've not watched this yet (at work all day ) but did we get Dimbleby waffling over the music? I watched the original 1953 Coronation Service broadcast on BBC Parliament last Sunday and was surprised to note that Richard Dimbleby was doing so."The sound is the handwriting of the conductor" - Bernard Haitink

I saw it on iplayer last evening. For the most part I found JB rather irritasting in his commentary. ~Sometimes, when the organ was playi9ng the music befopre the service began, be good just to hear that. Especially one of my favourites, the Fugue in Eb, " St Ann", by JSB. Potherwise the actual serice itself was good. Especially when the Vivats were sung!(or shouted!?!?!?)Don’t cry for me
