The Sinfonie Concertante has been one of my lifelong obsessions; I recommend the recording by Virgil Fox (no, really?) on the old Cavaille-Coll Trocadero organ, at the time of recording rebuilt in the Palais de Chaillot. It has a sound for which the word 'stunning' (in more than one sense) is barely adeqate. Thomas Trotter must like it, he's played if reasonably often over the years ( I recall Birmingham Town Hall, conducted Bryden Thomson, many years ago).
