I can sympathise. I often used to stiffen up whilst watching Anne-Sophie.

Just a bit of light-hearted saucery....

With that poster aboard, it's always likely to become that kind of forum, Dave

If there's a tone, I'll lower it. Think of me as kind of human version of a Bb Clarinet.

Or perhaps even a contrabass clarinet (also in B flat, of course)? (although I'm uncertain as to whether or to what extent the remark about owners of such instruments in Norman del Mar's splendid Anatomy of the Orchestra would apply to you)...

Specifically the wife of Mr Cameron, peut-ĂȘtre? (not that one can ever actually listen to her, of course)...

Now I used to have that book many moons ago, but I can't recall the remark- tell me more!!

And talking of Contrabass clarinets, also may moons ago I attended the Clarinet and Saxophone Society's annual Summer School, at which a quartet of Contrabass clarinets was assembled. They called themselves "The Contrapotamus Quartet" and two of the players were Paul Harvey and Chris Gradwell. Their rendition of the "Pink Panther" theme on those four intruments was...something else.....
