    Darn good, not 4d wasted.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Well, actually ... I've found my old email to one J. Sorel (dated 28 May 2007) who recommended it: "I've ordered the Brilliant set - Bryn would probably have found a cheaper price, but £24.99, free delivery from HMV, seemed reasonable for 14 CDs."

So there you have it - £24.99

we were evicted from our box set in the middle of the road......

          (not far from number 4A.....)

          phew back on topic!

Edit, and just as a quick grumble those trailers are really very irritating.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

... well, I'm sure it would have been...

This email just received, reflecting an announcement this evening:

              Saturday 4th May 2013 at 7:30pm
Fauré Project: Quatuor Ebène/Nicholas Angelich (piano)
              /Michel Dalberto (piano)

              CANCELLED CONCERT

Thank you for booking the above concert.
Unfortunately, as two members of Quatuor Ebène are ill and unable to perform, this concert has been cancelled.
There will be no replacement concert.

The artists have asked us to pass on their sincere apologies for the cancellation and the disappointment that this will cause.
The Box Office will refund the amount of the purchase price to the original method of payment within the next three days.
Please do not hesitate to contact us on 020 7935 2141 or by email at boxoffice@wigmore-hall.org.uk if you have any further queries

              Thanks

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

As I read the cancellation notice, I wondered whether the actual problem was that cellist's Raphael Merlin's Guarnerius was still languishing in Customs at Charles de Gaulle Airport, the victim of incomplete paperwork, but he apparently got it back on 2 May.

Interesting. Not their week was it?

I don't think the official announcement was wrong. We were loitering at the front entrance before the Thursday concert, getting some fresh air, next to Michel Dalberto who was chatting with friends and he mentioned to them that two of the quartet were ill and that there would be no Saturday concert.
