    Great American Songbook--Chicago Acapella

Saw this marvelous acapella group a few days ago performing American Standards in fantastic arrangements. The should have a CD released soon with this concert on the Cedille label. Highlights were Gershwin's "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess, and a juxtaposition of two Rogers and Hammerstein standards, "Surrey With the Fringe On Top" and "Getting To Know You."

Thanks for this, their website has many audio samples and they are very wide-ranging in their repertoire which is sung fabulously well.
Rogers and Hart too, in particular a stunning albeit truncated version of I Wish I Were In Love Again, that I found some years ago on Youtube sung by Carmen McRae withe Clarke-Boland Big Band. Such a brilliant lyric and a great tune delivered with tremendous verve. The Great American Songbook - no misnomer.
