Verklarte Nacht - lunchtime - LSO Strings

Just heard it on the car radio. I guess it was un-conducted, and all the better for that. Apart from some rather loud sniffing and intakes of breath from (I assume) the leader keeping things under control, it was a fine account of Schoenberg's pre-serial masterpiece.

Live from LSO St Luke's, London, the LSO String Ensemble plays Schoenberg and Tchaikovsky.

The LSO string section is one of the glories of this country's musical life. (The rest of the orchestra are pretty good too!)
