    I enjoyed the sound of this piano too, and much of Schiff's playing, but thought he could have done with a conductor in K 491...problems with balance, the bass line too prominent sometimes, the woodwind too loud...or was it the BBC, doing something to make the piano more audible at home and affecting the overall balance? Certainly the usual refinement of the OAE woodwind was lost in this piece somehow.

      I only heard K271 and found it interesting, but no more than that. Call me a philistine but I've never been overly enamoured of the fortepiano.

        I don't admire the early Mozart Concerti as much as the later ones but lovethat Haydn symphony no98. Ithought the humour of the last movement was nearly as well realised as in my beloved Colin Davis CD.

        Didn't hearthe second half, mustcatch up.
