    Hornspieler,
Thank you so very much for writing down some of the highlights of your long career. Others here may know them already, but they are fresh and interesting to me. I perhaps should have used a private message, but I thought that others might also be interested.

Pleased to make your acquaintance as well. I'm primarily one who reads these threads to learn, but I want to express my appreciation for your concert reviews.

    Roehre,
You may blame me for derailing the discussion. My apologies!

No blame-game here, Estelle. My pleasure too. Hornspieler and I sometimes disagree fundamentally, but I wouldn't like to be without his contributions for any price

I worked in music in a number of capacities and without proper training myself. I loved the stories ofthe orchestral librarians I met, very often ex-players themselves and was delighted to hear/read the stories of our two distinguished horn players, the other, waldhorn, still working I believe.

What a pity we can't persuade Peter Katin and any other professionals to regale us with their experiences during these rather troubled times. And we have a trombone playing lawyer lurking somewhere too.

Our trombone playing lawyer has been very active on these message boards over the past few days.

Has'nt he got any briefs? (Apart from those he's wearing, of course!)

... IIRC, his contributions to Horenstein's Mahler 7 and Berglund's Sibelius 5 are beyond rubies, too!
