    Zukerman's Brahms

I've been dipping into Zukerman playing Brahms violin sonatas on Sky Arts 2 and finding it hard to take.

I've always enjoyed his sound recordings, but the barn-door vibrato is simply unavoidable when it's reinforced by the moving picture of his left hand, oscillating constantly.

...Yes, I know the Performances- The Viola Sonatas are considerably more successful- However I also have to wonder if Violin was well miked. Also I felt the Pianist (very good)
did tend to approach the feat "Pianistically" at times, rather than as an Accompanist...Do try the Suk/Katchin Recording- I've yet to be convinced of better from anyone else!
