    John golland 1942-1993

I have just been practising a lovely Sonata for horn and piano by John Golland in preparation for a concert in Manchester in March 2013.
The Sonata, although outwardly light-hearted, contains some deeper undercurrents, to the extent that I want to find out more about the composer.
I have heard that the concert organisers are trying to persuade the BBC to record it.
I know nothing about this composer, sad to say, and 'wiki' says almost nothing about him:

Do any MBoarders know anything about this composer - now sadly neglected?

Yes, Waldhorn Indeed he is an unjustly neglected composer. He has composed some very fine works for brass band that I know and have played, includiong a tuba concerto and 2 euphonium concertos as well.
