I can see where you are coming from HS and feel terribly guilty having just posted about football, the weather and a CD/DVD drive! But I can say if no one picks up the mantle I shall miss the thread and your comments terribly.

What??!! Not the Lutos Concerto, Bbm? Terrific work, and conducted by a fellow composer, this should be well worth hearing.

              Thanks, HS and sals!

To show my ignorance ferney, I heard a little of the Luto beginning on iPlayer and thought it sounded like something fromthe old Electronic Workshop.

After weeks of drought, nothing is coming up (except my bile) to quench my thirst for live orchestral music.

I shan't be around to suffer next week, so will see you all later.

Just checked the listings, pretty thin pickings for the orchestral enthusiast, I agree HS

                          Have a good break
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Richard Strauss' Metamorphosen will provide the warm-up.

Having missed Act 2 because of a rather bad cough, I started a cold yesterday - not the best timing! However, it hasn't metamorphosed (ahem) into a cough yet, so I won't let it put me off (I just hope that I won't end up sneezing )

Thanks, but as it's only just started I'm looking forward (in a negative sense ) to at least 2 weeks of it.
