i only caight the talk and the Grisey. I am ambivolent about these introductions, but this was just too long and inappropriately done, though no doubt with the best of intentions.
However, what I really wanted to say was that Allison Bell's performance was wonderful in my opinion. I was certainly very impressed.

I'm with you Roehre,I feel less inclined to listen to Mahler symphonies these days.

Not one, but two even It's like London busses. The last full cycle I listened to was in 2004 (Chailly, including Cooke's 10th)
This year it was Solti's 9 followed by Bertini's 9 + Adagio 10 + Lied von der Erde.
Even though Mahler and Beethoven are among my top 3 composers to take to a desert Island, I generally avoid their works to avoid them becoming over-over-familiar.

After the glut of performances during the anniversary years of 2010/11 I have played relatively little Mahler this year but seem to have played a lot of Beethoven to compensate! Mind, Santa should be bringing me the latest remastering of Bernstein's CBS Mahler cycle in 10 days time so expect the 'What are you listening to now' thread to contain this among my contributions in the New Year.
