Thanks for mentioning this! One of the great things about this forum is being reminded of excellent concerts that one might have overlooked.

Tomorrow's concert (6th) is so enticing, it's almost as if they knew it was someone's anniversaire

Bach: Partita No. 2 in C minor, BWV826
Beethoven: Variations on Mozart's "Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen" WoO 46
        Schubert: Arpeggione Sonata, D821

Happy Birthday Throppers and many thanks for alerting me to this remarkable series of delights.

Are there to be celebrations today chez Throppers?

                Merci, Ams!

Mais, bien sûr, on va fêter l'anniversaire de Throppers!

Un peu de foie de veau for lunch with a cheeky glass of Medoc 2009, peut-être? And some later? Anything is possible chez Noggers!

                Santé!

Crumbs! Sapristi! Indeed, happy birthday Throppers... Bon appétit & félicitations... What with the Médoc and the maybe we should expect some bracing postings later on in the day...

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I'm listening to the Beethoven sonata op.10 No.3 from yesterday's recording. An exquisite performance by Cooper.

                          Must catch up with that.

And is Sir slightly and agreeably sozzled from festive libations?

Very much a Work in Progress.

A boozy lunch, including galantine de faisan and foie de veau, married with an Haut-Medoc 2009.

Now c'est l'heure d'apéro: crémant de Bourgogne, saucisse d'Alsace, caviare d'aubergine (the latter made by Mrs. T)...followed by scallops wrapped in jambon de bayonne. Then, boudin blanc with an apple compote. All cooked to perfection by Mrs. T.

Haut-Medoc in the process of being finished as I write...
