50th Anniversary concert of The Farifield Halls, Croydon.
Its rather sobering to think I was at that first season of the Faifield Halls with Arthur Davison conducting the Croydon Symphony Orchestra and was present at the inaugaration concert of the organ in 1964 (I have a cutting from the local paper which shows the back of my head - with hair! - in the front row). Where did all those years go? I have to thank my late mother for taking me to these Fairfield Hall concerts and starting my life-long love of classical music.
Good to hear the Finzi clarinet concerto.
The R3 website listings look awry with two performances of The Wasps on the programme apparently.
