"playMozartfor me " with Sara M-P

I am not quite sure whether comments on the above programme with SMP , are here in the correct place, but please forgive me if not.
as yesterday was Turkish day on the currrent MozartFest, I have a SACD titled "Dream from the Orient", which is played on this excellent disc by Concerto Koln and Sarbande , a Turkish Ensemble. Only 1 track is by Mozart, the others by either some Turkish composers or other European contempories. one of those was the student of MOzart , FranzXavier Sussmayer, who completed Mozarts Requiem. I was astonished to hear on his track, the piece titled "Sinfonia Turquesa" in C Major. I did not realise that Sussmayer had even composed any symphonies, but apparently he was quite populor in Vienna after Mozarts death, until his own demise in 1803. does anyone know if there are any recordings of Sussmayers other works still current.?

Thre most certainly are, and some are excellent. He was a very competent composer.

This as far as I know is the fullest list:

Click on the left hand link Discographie

    Hope that helps.

A most enjoyable disc, particularly for the uninhibited contributions of Sarband, Süssmayr's Sinfonia Turchesca is a lot of fun. Here's the first movement:

This particular programme is so crass that I beg to be forgiven for complaining about the texting and e-mailing in Breakfast. Suddenly none of that seems quite so bad.

Agreed - and you're totally forgiven! Wonderful music but as for the programme itself - cringe, cringe, cringe!

Tonight, Sunday, the programme was suddenly replaced by selections from WAM introduced by Jonathan Swain. Curious.

Possibly SM-P was exhausted after a gruelling week. One can quite understand.

Agreed. I listened to part of one programme, and thought the concept crass. SM-P was clearly doing her best, but I thought it just didn't suit her style to present a programme like that. She's knowledgeable and articulate about music but the touchy-feely concept of the programme seemed, to me, alien to her. Radio 2.5, again, alas. I hope she was tucked up in bed with a hot toddy and listening to Jonathan Swain.
