Has anyone been listening to the Bayreuth broadcasts on BR-Klassik and elsewhere?

And members might like to know that there are still tickets available for the anniversary concert (Thielemann conducting Walküre Act 1, and some bleeding chunks) in the Festspielhaus on 22 May next year. If you've been waiting for years to get a ticket for Bayreuth, here's your chance!

There are also tickets still available for die Feen, das Liebesverbot and Rienzi in early July (not in the Festspielhaus).

Well I've managed to get a couple of tickets for 'Tannhäuser' on the Bank Holiday 27th August in the Festspielhaus: it's my first time at Bayreuth, and needless to say, I'm greatly looking forward to it. In fact we will be there for three days, so we might get lucky and secure tickets for 'Parsifal' on the next day as well if there are returns: otherwise we will just soak up the atmosphere and have an ice cold glass of Maisels Weiss at Kroft.

Colonel - how did you get tickets? Have you been putting in for the ballot for years, or have you just become a member of the Cabinet ? I'm green with envy.
