Thanks anyway. No doubt I will survive. Is anyone else going? I shall be all alone, no-one wants to accompany me
    A very fair comment, Flay

I thoroughly enjoyed it a couple of Saturdays ago & would gladly go again - I do hope that you get the same bang for your buck

Talking of bang for your buck (or boar... or gnu...)

The things you see when you haven't got your gun...

Encore or stag party? You decide!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Yes it seems to come 'onstream' during the evening, if Saturday's is anything to go by.

I'd head straight for the second half.... reports about the new piece in the first half aren't brilliant.

Another chance for Mijnheer van Aalpensinfonie: the Venezuelan gang has gone off to Amsterdam, and the Thursday morning rehearsal and evening concert will be available live here http://www.concertgebouw.nl/live including the Alpine number

Live rehearsal: 12 noon CET - I suppose that means 11am BST

            and

            Live concert: 20.15 CET / 19.15 BST

Speaking of the Concertgebouw and the Alpine Symphony, if you don't already have the software needed to view this stream, the 2011 Kerstmatinee from Amsterdam, with Strauss' Four Last Songs (soloist, Anja Harteros) and the KCO with Haitink, can be viewed here:

And in case Alpie (and other Alpensinfonie-completists) hasn't heard, there's a new recording just released on col legno:
