    No Benjamin performance?

Last night I went to hear George Benjamin and Ligeti at the RFH. Benjamin has been all over the airwaves recently, talking about his music. So why was there no relay on Radio 3? Particularly as the evening kicked off with the gorgeous sounds of Jubilation, with its inspiring integration as musical equals, of school choirs, young steel pan, recorder and brass players with a major international orchestra, and its perfect fit with the whole Cultural Olympiad/Queen's Jubilee business. When are we ever going to hear that project again? It was commissioned by the Thatcher-abolished Inner London Education Authority. Perhaps, post-Boris, this was too much for the BBC to take?

Might it have been recorded? Sundays on Radio 3 don't have a concert, live or otherwise, which could be one explanation - notwithstanding the ability to rearrange things if the will is there.

    (Welcome to the forum, btw!)

My understanding is that the BBC declined to record the concerts. Does anyone from the Beeb come on here to reply to comments?
(Thank-you for the welcome, french frank).

Erm, no... they decline to do that too.
