I didn't even know that Schubert had written a St Matthew Passion.

Wonderful to have no applause after Part I. Just as it always used to be. Apart from the 'O Mensch, bewein' fantasia being rushed in the now-customary fashion, a lovely performance, too.

              "Then-customary", surely?

No, I'm referring to the performance under way.

I couldn't listen to this on the day and some numbskull at the BBC has encoded the wrong audio data so that listen again points to ten minutes of some radio play (the archers?). Does anyone know a phone number you could ring to complain?

                        Hello and welcome, Pegleg!

Don't know about a phone number, but there is an online link somewhere. I'll search (anyone else have it to hand?)

                        The link is somewhere here.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

                          Hi FF,

I did the email thing already, but how nice it would be to talk to someone for a change. I was going to be polite ....

I wonder if the link you posted is in repsonse to my email. I'm pessimistic about the outlook of ever hearing this. When things have been screwed up on iPlayer in the past the correct matrerial has never appeared. Guess I'll just have to listen some more Schubert tonight.

                          Thanks for the welcome.

The problem has been shown as being investigated for well over 24 hours. I wonder how long it would actually take a competent technician to sort it? "A Month of Sundays", perhaps.

The sad thing is when they do sort out the problem they will only give you three or four days to catch up as the 7 day clock runs in association with the original broadcast. Logic would suggest that the powers that be at iPlayer have the politeness to move the clock forward so latecomers still have seven days to catch up.
