It's interesting how some folk regard this recording as a question of "which one do I like the most" ?
on the CEC (Canadian Electroacoustic Community) newsgroup people have referred to this recording in a more philosophical way and as a discussion point about how music (and recording technology) has changed or not.
On here the original post had the phrase "so revealing" which I think is true , but revealing of what ? My own "tastes" ? The apparent lack of precision in some orchestras ? The changes in pitch ? The apparent completely different voicing of some of these recordings ?

A quick mention for Ensemble 28, directed by Daniel Grossman, in which the orchestra is the exact same number of musicians that LvB had at his disposal for the first performance, as I understand it. The opening youtube clip is immensely fascinating, notwithstanding.
