Well that is what I've already done on this particular thread, isn't it?

The evening concerts are the only ones with a high probability of being live concerts. The lunchtime concerts are now (Monday at Wigmore Hall excepted) neither live nor concerts in the sense of being music recorded at a single event. Ao3 does from time to time feature live concerts but often it's a mix of music from various recorded concerts.

Sort of, Corny: I think some people might have been misled by the bold capitals on "LIVE" in the Thread title into thinking that this was a thread comparing the relative merits of Live and recorded performance.

I think, by the way, that you are quite right to draw attention to the fact that there is more discussion about CD performances than about broadcast concerts on these Boards (mea culpa, mea maxima culpa) which seems a bit odd on a Radio discussion Forum.

          Best Wishes.

...and sadly in the core repertoire, an overwhelming preference for discussing and playing recordings of 40-50 years ago by long dead performers. I suppose it's an age thing but there are many wonderful performers and orchestras to be heard today. Sometimes I feel a bit sorry for RW.

A point I mentioned to RW last week. He agreed that the single event is preferable. So check on that and see what happens!

By 'Performance' I was following the BBC boards usage, meaning live broadcasts and recorded public performances.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

                  Yes they do, don't they....

RW's Schubert-a-thon looks like wiping out the last of these: shame that he's decided to deprive Hugh Wood of a well-deserved 80th birthday tribute in favour of a 215th (for crying out loud why?) birthday jamboree for a composer who doesn't do too badly the rest of the time....
