I followed up the "parting shot" referred to in that blog, which is:
„Außerdem ist mir die Klassik-Branche zu oberflächlich geworden. Man hat den Eindruck, außer David Garrett gäbe es niemanden mehr".
It is a dumbing-down comment which can be translated thus: "Apart from that [his state of health] the classical music industry has become too superficial for me. You have the impression that there is no one else around but David Garrett." A bit harsh perhaps but we know what he means.

I was fortunate to see TQ live 3 times, in rather diverse repertoire, Brahms' German Requiem, a Bach cantata and DSCH 14 in the same concert, and his "Watch What Happens" concert from the Great American Songbook at Carnegie Hall. Anyone here have any concert memories to share of him?

Sadly, I never heard TQ live but loved his classical and jazz singing on records, DVD and the steam radio. I hope he enjoys his retirement from public singing and nurtures some super future singers.
