It's all live on BBC HD, a terrestrial channel.

I must say I did enjoy the interval feature that was shown on the HD Channel. I don't think I've ever heard "Flight of the Bumblebee" played on a double bass before!!

A woman leader of a VPO section by 2025 perhaps?
As one of the four concert masters of the VPO is a woman so I think we are already there.

In mitigation if I may, m'Lud?

The fillum in question is both very old and very funny.

And several of the men are extremely camp

                What's your definition of 'camp'?

I hope I am wrong, but I believe I just spotted a lady cellist. Oh dear, I so hope the VPO sound will not be tainted by this act of political correctness gone mad.

'Camp' is a word that is very personal and therefore defies definition, in my opinion. I think it's a certain sort of sensibility.

However, the musicians in the fillum exemplify it, for me

                      Anybody spotted Roger Moore yet?

There's also a lady harpist. The world's gone mad.

                          A lady?

                          How can you tell?

Have you riffled through her handbag (a haaandbaaag?) looking for her pastry fork?

When she breaks wind, is the world filled with the scent of Parma violets?

What was the Tommy Beecham utterance about lady cellists? If it is repeatable on a family R3 group?
