    salymap.

I don't know of a new TV programme about Ballet Russes, but there is a commercial documentary on sale at the V & A, and they have a website. I'm no good at posting
links, but they are on www.balletsrussesmovie.co.uk.
I bought the disc, but I haven't had time to view it yet, but I'll let you know what it's like

It's nice to see you at our new home, The Gang's All Here! ( Now that was a nice movie with Alice Faye! )

Just as well, salymap, I tried the website I recommended, but it wasn't on the server. As the DVD dates from 2003, I imagine the site is no more.
Mention of Arnold Haskill reminds me of the Ballet Bookshop in Cecil Court, I found some great LPs there, and his books were always on view.

And its useful neighbour "Orchesography" which often had Supraphon and Seraphim (the American version of HMV) LPs on sale for pennies. Then there was (and still is, although its Salisbury branch has gone) Travis and Emery, the musical book shop in Cecil Court.

Thanks Euda and Flosshilde for helpful suggestions and kind offers about the exhibition catalogue. V&A will post overseas and also available on Amazon. So there are choices. The documentary, "Ballet Russes" was mentioned in another post. It's quite interesting and shows much archival footage in B&W and color. Last time I flew to England, this was the in-flight movie both coming and going. I watched it each way.

Goodness, what a very superior airline! How many of your fellow passengers were watching?

                  Flosshilde,

We had individual screens on the seatback. "Ballet Russes" was one of several choices on the menu. Certainly a superior experience!
