    Cecil Forsyth, list of works

I am interested in finding out about works by the composer Cecil Forsyth. I already know of the viola concerto but nothing else. The New Grove online was little or no help. I would really like to know about any orchestral works and choral works with orchestra.

To get a very good idea of his published works, search for Cecil Forsyth in the British Library catalogue:

Forsyth primarily composed songs, some of which he also orchestrated. Below is a list of his orchestral works, but I may be missing a few. Chanson Celtique is probably his most well-known piece behind the Viola Concerto, and it is the only other work that is currently available in a recording (in a version for viola and piano). I am not sure that the Victor Hugo Studies were ever published. You should investigate his songs, as many are quite attractive and worthy of rediscovery.

      Alice in Wonderland (Orchestral Suite)
Chanson Celtique for Viola and Orchestra
The Dark Road for Viola and String Orchestra
Four Studies from Victor Hugo (Orchestral Suite)
The Last Supper : a Lenten meditation for baritone solo and mixed chorus with organ or orchestra accompaniment
The Luck of Eden Hall; choral ballad for men's voices, soprano solo, with accompaniment for orchestra or piano.
Tinker, Tailor : choral ballad : set for soprano solo, contralto solo and chorus of female voices, with acc. for piano or orchestra

        Hello dbynog,

Where did you obtain this list? I'm very impressed. Many thanks.
