Apparently, one consequence of the recently announced cutbacks will be an increase in live relays of concerts by smaller ensembles, and a corresponding reduction in those featuring large(r) orchestras.

Exactly what I've been wittering on about. Am I just being a scaremonger? I don't think so.

You are not a scaremonger VH. The BBC actually admitted this would happen in one of their programmes about the changes. Can't remember where though.
