    Great String Quartets at Edinburgh

Archive performances from the Festival. This, by the Chiaroscuro Quartet, from 2017.

Confusingly, introduced not by Donald MacLeod (as per programme website) but by Eizabeth Alker. Music starts at 12.20. (Website is inaccurate at the time of this posting.)

I just heard the last two movements of the Schubert Quartet and was blown away.... A must-hear performance IMHV.

    [Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Adagio and Fugue in C minor, K.546
    Not included?]

    Johann Sebastian Bach
    Art of Fugue (Contrapunctus 1, 4 & 9)

    Joseph Haydn
String Quartet in E flat major, Op.76, No.6

    Franz Schubert
String Quartet No.14 in D minor, D.810 'Death and the Maiden'

I now see that this is part of a series (sort of) including the Takacs, Mosaiques, and Arditti quartets, as well as ten other chamber ensembles.
