    Jess Dandy/Sea Pictures

Anyone else as impressed as me by this young contralto in last night's evening concert with the BBC Phil. She's quite something with a huge vocal range - no low options taken when a real top note needed and a superb low register. I think the phrase nowadays is 'The Real Deal'.

JD got a very brief word of praise in the Minnesota Orchestra's Mahler 8 this past weekend, from Rob Hubbard in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune here:

      "Contralto Jess Dandy also impressed."
Short and sweet, as the saying goes. Your side of the pond is well represented in this blowout event to close Osmo Vänskä's tenure in Minnesota, with Carolyn Sampson and Barry Banks also joining the proceedings.

The Minnesota Orchestra has made a concert video of Osmo Vanska's Mahler 8 (mentioned above) available for a spell, with Jess Dandy among the soloists:

Just found this (so haven't yet watched it), and I've no idea how much longer it will be available. So it's best to watch it ASAP while one can.

Thanks for that. Streaming into Audials One as I type.

Thanks for that Bluestateprommer. Enjoying it so far and the soloists (apart from Conductor waywardness the principal likely weak link) all seem up to the job - although its early on....

This page says its available until November :
From June 10 to 12, 2022, the Minnesota Orchestra presented Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand, with eight vocal soloists and four choirs joining the Orchestra to perform Gustav Mahler’s Eighth Symphony, known as the Symphony of a Thousand, in the final concerts of Osmo Vänskä’s 19-year tenu…

And the full artist details are listed from a link down the page under the heading "Guest Artist Profiles".

Pretty full credits at the end, with all orchestral players named. I did not notice a full listing of chorus members.

Phew! I ran out of 'disc' (SSD) space on the first attempt at saving with Audials One (2019). Having moved several GB off that C: drive, it recorded successfully on the second attempt. Turns out that the audio is at a bearable 133 ABR aac (i.e. a little better than Radio 3 DAB at 192 kbps mp2). Now to copy t a USB stick to play via a HiFi system.

I would certainly prefer hearing her in this than the dreaded Elgar Sea Pictures!
