Agreed on both your description and incredulity at the announcement. I emailed the programme a few minutes in to alert them to the need to make a correction afterwards, but no announcement followed. This seems to be a pattern sadly with R3. I have alerted them 3 or 4 times when they have played a different piece to that announced, yet no corrections or even acknowledgment of emails/voicemails

Since the recordings date from last summer, it is quite possible that Doc. Walker was working from an inaccurate listing provided to her, and that her presentation was also recorded in advance of the broadcast. That's no excuse for Radio 3 failing to acknowledge and correct the error, once advised of it, however.

Update: the problem arose due to an inaccurate listing provided by the EBU, an error that the programme's producer failed to spot in advance of the Lunchtime Concert broadcast. The online listing has now been corrected: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0016ywz
