    A Houghin' an' apuffin'

Rather enjoying last night's Hough Radio 3 in Concert. I was curious about Georgia Mann's introduction to the 'Spring' Clarinet Quintet. Did I miss it or did she, in referring to Beethoven's misgivings re. arrangements for strings of piano music, totally fail to give mention to Beethoven's own exercise in this discipline, that of the Op. 14i piano sonata? I hope I am not being too picky in expecting a properly researched introduction to at least mention it.

    Finely 'curated' and executed concert.

Apparently the Opus 88 String Quintet is sometimes known as the 'Spring' Quintet - but, like you, I've never heard the word used when discussing the Clarinet Quintet.

Not sure how much the word is out, but SH has plans for the royalties from his upcoming Hyperion set of the Beethoven piano concertos, as reported in Gramophone:

"I would like to donate all my royalties from this recording to Help Musicians to support those colleagues who are facing difficulties at this time of crisis."
The Hyperion set is due on May Day: https://www.hyperion-records.co.uk/d...c=D_CDA68291/3
