10 days of really pleasurable listening between noon and 2 p.m. this week, comprising familiar works and real discoveries, played in full in nearly all cases.
I've learned a lot about Lutoslawski thanks to CotW, and the 1.00 p.m. concerts have been absolute joy: wonderful Mozart on Monday, followed by a wide-ranging selection of pieces played by Czech chamber groups and soloists from Tuesday onwards. I've heard works by Reicha, Smetana, Janacek, Martinu, Liebermann, Foerster, Bernstein, Chopin, Ades, Gerstein, Haas and now Dvorak.
