Lucie Horsch (Recorder) and the AAM: R3 in Concert Tuesday 26 February

A very enjoyable concert although Erbame Dich in a song without words version didn’t work for me. Certainly a performer to watch (she is only 19).
Music by JS Bach played on the recorder by Lucie Horsch with the AAM under Richard Egarr.

I mentioned her (though got her name wrong!) under Talking About Music/Recorders. Post#39.

Must listen to the concert. Thanks, Dovers.

This was mentioned on the Recorders thread. Yes it was an enjoyable concert, with some wonderfully robust and earthy sounds from the ensemble's bass department - nothing prissy about the playing. The instrumental rather than vocal line in the Erbame Dich wasn't what bothered me so much as the fact that the balance between the violin obbligato and the 'voice' line was the wrong way round to my ears; the violin was too prominent and drowned the recorder sound.
