      Yes but that the was the bit I wasn’t really listening to! He has a nice legato line and cantabile style but I worry about his technique and how much he follows the conductor. The Argerich Beethoven PC 1 was a masterclass in that respect.

        I also heard that - it was special, I agree… From memory, the conductor was Renaud Capuçon, a cellist and protegé of MA I think… I wonder who was following who?

          Producing a performance of that level of technical security in your mid 80’s is extraordinary. Lost count of the number of times I said to myself that was nicely phrased. She never just knocks out a scale - everything is shaped.
          On the following front if I were Rene I’d follow Martha .If I were Alex I’d follow Kiril.
