    John Wilson/BBC Phil VW5

I liked this performance (Fri pm) and if you're in a VW5 mood I think you might too. Some really beautiful playing in all depts. of the BBC Phil.-

Yes, VERY fine playing, but didn't you think it just a tad 'business-like' rather than inspirational?

I heard it in the car and was so taken by the music especially that wonderful soaring violin line in the climax of the Romanza that I resolved into pure enjoyment mode. I thought the Passacaglia a little hurried but the playing of the ending was magical. Maybe not my all-time favourite performance but I'd have been very happy at the end of the concert.

          Hello there,

Really enjoyed the concert yesterday. Good to hear the Korngold VC too and a rare outing for Copland's Connotations. A good afternoon's listening imho.

          Best Wishes,

          Tevot
