Thanks for this notice, Pianorak. It will be interesting to discover what any piano music composed by Lachenmann sounds like!!

It's not entirely "typical" Lachenmann, S_A - it seems to take the sort of things that a young child does on a piano, and expands them into a suite of pieces. I find the Suite itself rather tiresome to listen to all the way through, and I think it's a very sensible idea to select movements and disperse them around a larger recital like this.

I just wanted to scream and rush out of the room when the final Lachenmann piece just wouldn't stop! Lachenmann apart, WHAT A FABULOUS RECITAL and what an amazing pianist, capable of the most tender and sensitive playing as well as the bash/crash of Schumann's Fantasie.

An unexpected bonus were the 4 Poulenc Penitential Motets in the interval, beautifully sung by The Netherlands Chamber Choir.

There's also this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vO0vhnq-5M - although why it needs to be more than half an hour long is a mystery to me.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

well ok, I should have said something more like "why it needs to be more than a few minutes long is a mystery to me"...

I heard Lachenmann himself play those Kinderspiel pieces a few years ago. They're a bit gruelling when played end to end to be sure, and as with a lot of his music I find listening to it a bit like being forced to take medicine when there was nothing wrong with me in the first place...
