Thanks to all who recommended this record .On first listening I can understand why the general view appears to be that the slow movement is much the highlight of the piece.

What I enjoyed most on the record was the opening selection of songs orchestrated so fascinatingly by six different composers including by Finzi himself. Splendidly sung too by John Mark Ainsley.
