,,, eradication does seem quite an operation -

Preferring damp soil, pendulous sedge is an attractive and useful perennial for bog gardens and those on heavy clay soil. However, its tendency to self-seed freely can make it unwelcome in some parts of the garden.

tho I'm not sure that JK had C. pendula in mind.... Happily plenty of birdsong hereabouts, garden list 79 (we live near an arm of the estuary).

sorry, yes, my fault, back to Tallis Scholars....

As Forum Members probably know, I am a great Sixteen Choir fan. I strongly recommend their recording. The inlay notes are as always very informative.

Listening to this now on i-player, excellent. Looking forward to the second half (after the viols...).

I heard the Tallis Scholars in Beverley a few years ago, excellent then. It was a Saturday night and I remember being surprised how many police were out in the town centre - pub/clubbing scene a bit like Newcastle perhaps

I'm just doing that, too. Surprised to learn from the intro. that Byrd was best known for the developlment of the English madrigal!
