This concert (R3 Monday evening, 3/3/17) I thought terrific. Some rare Wolf played with virtuosic relish by the orchestra, and then a Mahler 5, which was a journey towards joy and glory! What an orchestra they are now...

(But I should point out for anyone like me who'd thought they might've missed a broadcast of a work by Christian Wolff, the first part of the concert consisted of works by Hugo Wolf.

I caught the last 15 minutes of the Mahler, pretty spectacular (with caveat not on a hi-fi system). Wow! What an asset for Liverpool and the NW.......and the UKComment

Haven't heard the broadcast yet, but I was in the hall for the slightly different programme on Sunday afternoon. Wonderful Mahler - we are fortunate indeed!Comment
