Assuming that this is what other stations in Europe broadcast during their day too, do they get the Choral Evensong repeat that Radio 3 offers, or is that replacing something that others get but we don't?
Or is it just a compilation for Radio 3?
Only those after the 'interval' say specially recorded, so are the earlier ones live?

The 2 p.m. session would seem to be taken from performances given on 16th and 17th March ( http://www.collegium1704.com/en/comp...489&Itemid=915 ). This webpage indicates recording on 17th March.

Looking forward to the Prague segment in particular.

But oh dear, it gives me a sinking feeling to see that the BBC Singers are representing British choral singing to the nations... They should have asked Winchester College...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

At the risk of being irreverent at the start of Holy Week, that Metropolitan Hilarion really kicks ass, doesn't he? I had never heard of him before, but I am just loving this! Clearly modern but with classical depth, and emotional without being syrupy. Need to go on YouTube and hear some more.

                      Quite.
If it weren't for the fact that several of the pieces in the programme are not only favourites of mine but also have a weight of memories attached, I would risk listening for a while. As it is I think the CD player will be seeing some action tonight.

I could have forgiven Ian Skelly for announcing Tallis's Salvatore Mundi once, but then he did it again at the end...

I had to leave before the end but I thought this was very good. Fortunate children.

Thanks for the Requiem Canticles reminder. Worth staying with the FLAC stream after EML for that, and the Poulenc to boot.

The BBC Singers really aren't too bad this evening, I have to say.
