Michael Fabiano, up-and-coming (or come) American tenor, is giving a recital at the Wigmore Hall on 21 April 2017 at 7.30pm, with Julius Drake.
He is a genuinely exciting talent, went down a storm at Glyndebourne then made his Covent Garden debut as Lensky in Eugene Onegin this time last year, absolutely sensational performance of the second act aria (shivers down the spine moment -- the entire auditorium suddenly realising they were witnessing a new star on the rise. I know, I was there.)
He sings regularly at the Met but still seems to stick mainly to the US at the moment, although he was booked to do the Verdi Requiem at last year's Proms but had to pull out.
Will be interesting to see how he does in recital -- well, I would think, judging by his mastery of detail in Onegin, he has a real control of dynamics.
Apologies for sounding like a groupie, I think I'm becoming one!
Plenty of tickets left as yet, but selling well from what I can see.
