Steven Osborne Beethoven last two sonatas

Anyone hear this recital Thurs lunchtime? I was in the car and only heard op111 but it lit up the day.

No! But I'm going to make sure I do hear it! Thanks for the heads up.

Excellent performances - impressive legato lines as well as wonderful pp and even ppp. Should be available on iPlayer.

Osborne's Beethoven is marvellous. With him and Bavouzet, we are spoilt at the moment

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I've no doubt that SO will record these sonatas for Hyperion soon!

I was referring to Beethoven in particular (and I forgot Levit)... but J-EB in the Ravel will certainly be worth a listen!

Osborne certainly has The Midas Touch, also in Messiaen too.
