I admit I find it incredibly hard to review anything like this in an objective manner because my absolute love of the music just gets in the way!

I agree. But I much admired Vogt's Parsifal - sounded quiet, boyish almost - dead right, of course - and Kundry one of the very best i've heard. Bu that last hour is overwhelming!

I'm not too sure if I be able to have time in the next few days to listen to this wonderful opera. This is how like to hear opera.

This was one of the finest I've heard. Stunning.

There are a couple of clips on YouTube as well. I hope they bring this out as a DVD.

They almost certainly will. It's been on German TV. (we discussed it here). Sky Arts might possibly bring it at some point - they broadcast the Ring this year.. It is well worth watching and obviously needs to be seen to catch the points which the director, Uwe Eric Lauffenberg, is trying to make.

                Loved Gurnemanz!

Available to members of the Wagner Society courtesy of its A-V library (shameless plug time).

Such a pity the Herheim production was never released, or Schlingensief for that matter. Can the Wagner Society help?
