A brave undertaking reminiscent of virtuosos of the past . The First was excellent from Kim albeit I could have fine with more oomph from Elder in the opening of the first movement - second about to start .

The B Flat was stupendous . I wondered whether it had received more rehearsal as the Halle seemed much more involved or is it just that the Second Concerto is actually a much better piece ?
I have been going to concerts at City hall in sheffield since 1985 and that was the first time I have seen a standing ovation from much of the audience . Sunwook Kim deserved it .
