Yes, it's in Manchester at the Bridgewater Hall, probably as close as he dare take his new orchestra. God willing I should be reporting from the concert. The main work is Mahler 5.
I attend a number of his Liverpool Phil concerts each season and standing out was a stunning Elgar Symphony No. 2 that Petrenko conducted at Preston in 2014.
Oh, I undertstand Petrenko conducts another orchestra in Spain or at least he did.Last edited by Stanfordian; 24-02-16, 19:48.

Sadly, I have yet to hear Petrenko conduct DSCH 5.
The easter Lego fest at Milestones museum of living History, big shopping centre, and..er...lots else.
The Anvil is nice too.and right next to the station.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.

Also just now with the LPO in London. Microphones in evidence so either an R3 relay or LPO live?
Blistering Tchaikovsky Manfred. The clarity and coherence of Jurowski but with buckets of passion (and precision), though much more of a lugubrious world-weary tread to some of the big themes compared with the RLPO Proms performance a few years ago.
The Prokofiev PC #1 in Liverpool last week with Trpceski was tremendous too. Best things I've been to in ages. Gets about a bit doesn't he? Even more than me!
