Handel Messiah free video of live performance from Herkulessaal Munich

I can highly recommend on the BR Klassik website a free video live performance of Handel Messiah from November 2014 at Herkulessaal Munich. I've been watching it this afternoon and it's splendidly performed with excellent sound and picture.

Julia Doyle (soprano); Lawrence Zazzo (counter-tenor); Steve Davislim (tenor); Neal Davies (bass-baritone)
    Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks
    B'Rock - Belgian Baroque Orchestra Ghent/Peter Dijkstra

Alles zu den Konzerten, CDs und DVDs, Videos und Audios sowie Livestreams des BR-Chores! Designierter Chefdirigent: Sir Simon Rattle. Künstlerischer Leiter: Peter Dijsktra.

I notice that the double CD set taken from these live performances has recently been released on BR Klassik 900510.

Thanks Stan. Dipped in already - the bits I've heard were excellent, not least the chorus !! ("For unto us..." absolutely wonderful).

    Grateful to you for posting.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I first performed (as a treble) in Messiah forty-three years and ten days ago - since then, I've also sung as a Bass in it (four times), played Timps (seven times) and second violin (three times) heard it in concert three times and broadcast and on record more times than I can remember. It never pales, and if anything it gets better every time: tremendous piece!

(A performance from Easter Monday, if I translate correctly - if anything, even more appropriate then than at Christmas.)

On one occasion I was a hired tenor soloist, but ended up playing the timps and the trumpet solo (on an organ stop) too.
